A 40-year class reunion lead to the creation of a nonprofit alumni organization called “Capac Classmates Promoting Future Adults” and a career scholarship. An innovative scholarship going to the “most improved “. The focus for this scholarship is character. The purpose of this scholarship is to promote and support the community by supporting students in the pursuit of their future careers. It can be used for a business as well as certification programs or college costs and any senior or equivalent living in the Capac School District is eligible.  Our first scholarship was awarded in 2023. In 2024 we will be awarding two scholarships totaling $5,000 from the generous support during last year’s event. Kyle Wetter, 2023 recipient of the Capac Classmates Promoting Future Adults scholarship,  welcomed Dori Stuever as the 2024 winner.

This year, Kyle was awarded the recurring scholarship now offered to previous winners. These scholarships are made possible by proceeds from the Weapons of Grass Destruction Golf Tournament The tournament will be held on June 22nd at Belle River Golf Course.
